I Finally Did It.
I finally took and passed my National Massage Test. That means I can work in Utah, and almost any other state. I should have taken it years ago, but since Robert died I just had a hard time getting my massage career back on track. The test wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...and I think that because I crammed like a crazy woman. I'm official and legal...it's weird.

Chestnut Tree
Night Mountain Biking
Last night I went mountain biking at night for the first time. I thought I would be a little freaked out by biking single track at night, but I loved it. It took on such a different feeling. I don't know how to explain it...it was like riding in the dark. Yeah that's exactly how it was. No, we had lights on out bikes and helmets...but it was still exciting. You didn't exactly know what was ahead of you so you had to be quick to adjust. I thought I rolled over a lot of stuff I normally would have avoided had there been more light. I think I am hooked, it's a great time for Seth and I to bike together esp. if we have had long days and ran out of day light.

Weekend
I know it was a whirl wind weekend, I hope everyone had good time.
Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad, thanks for getting married and having us yahoos. Also thanks for letting us celebrate the big day with you.
Big Congrats to Dad and Charlotte for doing the Big Sur race. Everyone is really proud of you guys. Dad you did great and I look forward to running a marathon with you. Also Charlotte tore is up on the 13.1 miles race. She was looking good in her new awesome running gear. I'm really proud of both you!!!! You guys were looking like naturals out there. Charlotte was a little sleepy after the run...this picture was taken about 30 seconds after we got on the car.
Also, I have some pictures of the Ultimate Frisbee game that joshua started. He is truly a fierce competitor and way taller that any of us. Well done josh on being awesome.
For those who don't know Joann just got a new bike. So we look forward to riding with her on the weekend and when she has the time. She is new to the sport so everyone remember what it was like when you first started. Be good to her. When joann took me to the airport we pass a line of art cars. It was weird. Check it out.
Thanks for the great weekend. Also thanks for being so nice to Anna. She had a great time. You guys are the best and I can't wait to see you guys again. Love you! -eugie

Gundy's are Moving
That's right we are moving in 7 days...the count down has begun. We will be in Logan on the 20th...I think maybe the 19th...I guess we are not sure. We are leaving on the 18th, what really sucks is that there is only one driver per vehicle...so I'm not sure how fast we can get there. I don't really know what the rush would be. This way we will be much closer to family...but still 12 hours away. Today I am packing. I hate packing and I have successfully put it off for about 10 hours. I better post this and get back to work, or at least start working.

Legit
So I finally sent my application in to take my national massage exam. This test will make me nationally licenced...yeah I know it's about time. It will take 3 weeks for the application to process and once I am approved to take the test I have 3 months to take it...but I plan on taking it in early September. I guess I need to hit to books. Yeah I realized that I probably need to focus on my career now...a free spirit isn't so cute at 30...I know I have a couple more years until I hit 30 but it's coming up...and I better figure something out by then. Wish me luck...you all know how I can be when it's time to getting working. -eugie

Dad's New Milestone
Yesterday, I broke my previous running record of 8 miles in 1 hr 29 minutes by running 10 miles in 1 hr 43 minutes, approximately (my stopwatch broke the last 3 miles, so I had to guesstimate the time based on the previous miles). I didn’t start out with the idea of running the 10 miles but after the 5th mile, I wasn’t totally wasted, so I decide to do another mile, then another, and another, until I completed the 10th mile. It was a little strange being the only one in park the last 2-3 miles, but it sure felt good to pass my old record. I noticed that my breathing was good to go for a lot more miles but my legs and especially my hip were whining a lot. Rather than risk injury I decided 10 was enough. My hip is still whining but not as loudly any more.
What surprised me a lot was how dehydrated I had become. It wasn’t too hot yesterday, around 75F, so I drank a cup or two of water before I began running and a few gulps every mile or so at the fountain in the park, including dousing my shirt with water to help keep me cool. I become somewhat concerned when it seemed I had stopped sweating about the 7th mile. So I drank a lot more and continued since I didn’t feel too bad. By the time I finished, I felt like a limp noodle, but I continued to drink lots of wafer. Evidently, it wasn’t enough as I noticed I didn’t have to pee until later that evening and when I did, it was orange. I guess my take-away message from this experience is to drink a lot more fluids before and during running. Any good suggestions on staying hydrated during long runs? - Dad
